Stephen,
We spent a few days at Mootna several years ago and found it a rather interesting place. Really enjoyed the historical displays and the fact that you could just wander amongst them. Probably has one of the best Museum displays in Australia in the old school house, really worth while to visit.
A good read

Thanks for that. Great to know that you enjoyed the area and I can recommend it to anyone that like mining history. Another great area also for mining history is another town less than 1/2 hour from
